About Loria

My Little Family

My Little Family

OK, so I wrote this “I am so serious” bio thingie for my book proposal (you wanna yawn, you can read it below) but since this is my blog. . .  Who I am is really – a Gastrosexual specialist (a female Gastrosexual, it’s the new generation of Woot, Woot!) a mom, a cook, a wife, a uncertified relationship counselor (better known as council to my circle of friends), a sister, a daughter, a writer, a dog walker, as well as an avid Starbucks connoisseur. I speak three completely different languages: English, Man, and Starbucks. I love my life,  my family, and I am putting down on paper (or web) and slapping a name to all the advice, concerns, and whatchamacallits from my midnight conversations with girl and guy friends, every book I have read, and my life experiences. Wooo Hoo!  I hope you enjoy!

The Serious Side of Me: (cough, cough)

Loria began her early writing career in the field of marketing and corporate editing. During this time she specialized in marketing materials for small businesses providing result-oriented copy in a variety of services including marketing brochures, web copy, newsletters, product releases, and on-line articles.  In 2003, she received a B.A. degree in Organizational Communication from Rollins College in Winter Park, Florida.  Loria’s three passions are marketing, cooking,  and interpersonal relationships. Her third passion–cooking–was developed at a young age as she was taught the synergy between home cooked meals and personal relationships by her mother.  Loria uses this gem of wisdom on a daily basis to improve her personal life.

During the time Loria was receiving a structured education, she was also being educated in life’s lessons. A path of self education was triggered by a series of failed relationships, the termination of her first marriage, as well as (or) most importantly, the need to have good answers for her multitude of single and married girl and guy friends that looked to her to be the point person (their council). In an attempt to answer the plaguing questions of why relationships fail and what makes them difficult, Loria sought out a multitude of different sources including her own therapy as well as untold hours of reading books on relationships. Some of the books in her library include the Mars and Venus series, Love and Limerence (which gives a scientific approach to being in love) His Needs/ Her Needs and the concept of Love Languages, though most of the books available do a phenomenal job of discussing the problem the do not share easy or effective solutions. This lack of effective solutions and her experiences is what lead her to the concept and execution of Cooking for Nookie.

Currently, Loria is a professional in the field of Pharmaceutical Sales and has a very happy home and family life with her husband and young daughter. Her kitchen impaired husband, Jonathan, has cooked every recipe that Loria recommends and followed the step-by-step guidelines within Cooking for Nookie, helping Loria to get out of her head making their relationship extraordinary.  Overall, Loria has the formal, professional and personal tools  to bring about a spark to relationships where one had flickered out and show how Cooking for Nookie can make every relationship new and exciting regardless of how long couples have been together.
